Littlebird aka: Kathy Kinzfogl (Kinzfogl is Austrian for Littlebird), was born in 1952 and grew up near Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Much of her childhood was spent in the water on Beaver Lake and other nearby lakes and in the surrounding woods and fields. Always playful, it was not unlike her to play a harmonica to the cows on her way home from school.

After attending a year of college at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Littlebird followed her sister out west camping in the mountains above Aspen, Colorado. She began making silver and gemstone jewelry while attending Colorado Mountain College in the early 1970's.

After traveling the American west and on up into Alaska while living in a tipi, Littlebird decided to raise her small family in Montana. She has lived on the same land in the Swan Valley since 1981. Besides working and studying with various artists and craftspeople, she continued her education at Flathead Valley Community College in Kalispell.

Littlebird lives and works at home on a beautiful 28 acre organic farm and nature preserve on the Swan River. Living in the woods, in the shadows of the Mission Mountains to the west and the Swan Range to the east, she draws inspiration from Mother Nature and the beauty that surrounds her.

Besides jewelry, Littlebird also works with clay and soft metals creating shields (wall hangings) that are inspired by Native American teachings. She also enjoys gardening, making healing oils and salves, flower essences, flower water, wildcrafting herbs, laughing , dancing, cooking and hiking. Lately however, her favorite activity is spending time with granddaughters.

All who know Littlebird are truely blessed to have such a positively wonderful friend. Her laughter is contageous and her love is true.
